V. DIRECTOR’S NOTE
“For the past ten years, Laura and I have lived in different countries, working separately on our practices. This project has brought us and our work together for the first time, allowing us to really see each other and how we work.
To me, Laura embodies the word 'care'; she has always supported the people around her and problem-solved with me halfway across the world. This work has allowed me to return some of this support and push her forward during many months of strain to get this project across the line.
The film looks at the meticulous world of embroidery within an industry defined by pace and perfection. Through close, tactile observations, the film focuses on the physical and emotional labour behind sport, fashion, and filmmaking.
Moments of siblinghood emerge throughout as we support one another through demanding projects. The film reflects on what it takes to complete work that is both personal and significant.”
